LEARN MORE

Thank you for volunteering. There is no greater joy than helping others.

CSSH is ALWAYS looking for volunteers.

Will you please help?

Thank you for your interest in becoming a CSSH shelter volunteer!  Our Code Blue shelter is CSSH's core service to our unsheltered neighbors in Central Bucks, and it is central to our mission.  Without a large group of trained volunteers, our shelters cannot open, and our mission will fail.  For the last two seasons during the COVID-19 pandemic, CSSH operated our shelters on a reduced roster of volunteers.  Of course, this meant that our active volunteers had to cover shelter shifts night after night - a model that is not sustainable year after year.   This fall, we hope to increase our registered, trained volunteer roster by 50% , thus lightening the load so that many more can share the work, and none are overburdened.

Volunteering in the CSSH Code Blue shelter is an incredibly rewarding and impactful way to give back.  Shelter service is safe, because we adhere to CDC guidance and safety protocols.  Believe it or not, our shelter is a warm and friendly place to spend a few hours doing good for those in need.  If you are interested in learning more about joining our work, please stay tuned for our in person and online trainings which will be scheduled and posted on our website this fall.  Please email our Executive Director, Mae O'Brien, to be added to our email list for the training announcements.  Thank you, and we hope to meet you in the shelter next winter!
